Wojciech Tworek

– adiunkt w Katedrze Judaistyki od 2019 roku. Interesuje się historią i kulturą chasydyzmu oraz żydowskiej ortodoksji. Studiował filozofię (UJ) i hebraistykę (UW). Absolwent rocznego kursu w Paideia Institute for Jewish Studies in Sweden. Doktorat, pisany pod kierownictwem Ady Rapoport-Albert i Naftalego Loewenthala, obronił na University College London. Po studiach doktoranckich przebywał na stażach podoktoranckich w Zakładzie Studiów Żydowskich UWr i w Anne Tanenbaum Centre for Jewish Studies na Uniwersytecie w Toronto. Był członkiem zespołu przygotowującego angielskie tłumaczenie jidyszowych materiałów przechowywanych w Archiwum Ringelbluma. Autor monografii Eternity Now. Shneur Zalman of Liady and Temporality (State University of New York Press, 2019) oraz tłumaczenia i opracowania autobiografii Natana Sternharza pt. Dni Natana (PWN, 2021) w ramach projektu „Kanon literatury wspomnieniowej Żydów polskich”. Obecnie wraz z Marcinem Wodzińskim i zespołem tłumaczy przygotowuje Antologię opowieści chasydzkiej (Ossolineum) oraz pracuje, w ramach grantu NCN Sonata, nad monografią ruchu Chabad-Lubawicz w międzywojennej Polsce pod roboczym tytułem The Polish Exile: Chabad Hasidism in Interwar Years.

Ponadto zajmuje się opracowaniem archiwum Ady Rapoport-Albert w zbiorach biblioteki Katedry Judaistyki oraz prowadzi spotkania z literaturą chasydzką dla studentów, absolwentów i przyjaciół Katedry.
